Icon Cancer Foundation (ICF) has been re-launched reflecting a continued commitment to grow Icon’s independent research program.
ICF is a not-for-profit charity that was founded more than 30 years ago to support cancer research and some serious non-cancerous conditions. Its mission has remained the same – to promote and fund innovative research to give cancer patients longer, better lives.
ICF Community and Partnerships Manager, Leanne Hardyman, says 2024 will be a transformative year for the charity as it focuses on increasing its research program across Australia.
“Our focus is on increasing our fundraising revenue and raising community awareness about the vital role research plays in improving cancer treatments,” Leanne said.
“Over the next two decades, in Australia alone, cancer rates will increase by 50 per cent. About two in five Australians will face a cancer diagnosis by the age of 85.”
“Research is the key to enhancing patient survival and quality of life, and while progress has been made in cancer treatments, there’s still a long way to go.”
For this reason, ICF plans to accelerate its clinical trials and research program.
You can help ICF create a future where cancer patients live longer, better lives through research.
